Welcome to the Beginning

This blog is an outgrowth of my reflections on nearing 60 years of age. I've been exploring what I want to do with the next phase of my life, both personally and professionally, and have never felt stronger emotionally, professionally, and creatively. After years of working within sexist, racist systems, I am taking control by creating this independent outlet for women who also feel that they have grown better with age.

Join me in taking back the word crone. Reject what is expected. In folklore, a crone is an older woman who is a dried up, and malevolent. Our US culture wishes older women like us would fade into the background. While older women we may be dry and need more moisturizer in places, we are powerful, resourceful, experienced, creative, and so very wise.

Please consider submitting something for this blog. I would never have made it this far in life without the advice and support of my female family, friends, colleagues, teachers, and mentors. This space is for them, and, hopefully, soon will be by them. Show and tell me what your experience and the passage of time has brought.
